STEP-UP Chattanooga is available for Hamilton County public school students in grades 10 - 12.
How Does STEP-UP Work?
APPLY - Apply online. Our 2023-2024 application is open for new and returning students. The application will remain open until we reach capacity.
GET TRAINED - Participate in one mandatory work-readiness and soft skills training. (Dec. - Feb)
GET MATCHED - You will be matched with an employer based on your skills, interests, and aptitude. (March)
INTERVIEW & GET HIRED - Interview with the employer you were matched to. We guarantee an interview, but not every student will be hired. (March-April)
GET TO WORK - Work at your summer job from June to early August.
STAY CONNECTED - Participate in additional STEP-UP leadership and career focused events.
APPLY EARLY. Work readiness training dates fill up fast.
Check ACT/SAT dates and other obligations before choosing your work readiness training date.
On the application, you will be asked to write a short essay on"Why I Want to Participate in STEP-UP Chattanooga."

When applying you will need to have an email address, know your mailing address, cell number, parent email, and parent/guardian cell number.
